For years I've wanted a corner of the Internet to call my own. Until now, I've never had the time and inspiration to set something up. Not to say this is "inspired" in any way, but it's a start. First there were static web-pages hard-coded in HTML. More recently there's been an explosion of web-logs ("blogs"), textual diaries online for all to peruse, and their v-blog ("video blog") and m-blog ("mobile blog") variants. It seems everybody is eager to prattle on endlessly about the mundane minutiae of their daily existences, and whereas some may find it makes interesting reading, quite frankly I don't. It seems to me that almost anything on the Internet that describes itself as a blog is essentially boring.

This isn't a blog. I don't want it to be a blog. I don't want you to think of it as a blog and I don't want it to be referred to as a blog. It isn't a publicly viewable journal, nor is it random musings arranged in reverse chronological order. Certainly the material presented draws inspiration from my daily life (doesn't everything?) but I'm not interested in the narcissistic thrills of laying my life bare for all to read and comment upon. My life and interests will transpire through the materials presented, but I don't intend to deliberately present a self-serving picture of what I do or whom I am. Self-aggrandisement is not my raison d'être.
Maybe some visitors know me socially, others I may have "met" through the Internet, perhaps under the guise of my assumed identity 'qubex'. Still others may not know me at all. There's even a risk that professional contacts may have found this page by searching for my name. All I can hope is that you might find what you're looking for.
